About
Welcome! My name is Jenny Hunter, and I am a holistic dog trainer based in Ponteland and Cramlington. I am a 'Platinum Level' Instructor at the Academy of Dog Training and Behaviour,  and a member of The International Companion Animal Network.

I have studied with

- The Institute of Modern Dog Training
- The Association of Professional Dog Trainers
- The British College of Canine Studies
- The Academy of Dog Behaviour and Training
- Compass Education and Training
- Canine Principles
- Dogs Trust Training School
- Victoria Stilwell Dog Training Academy
- Canine Thinking
- Kachina Canine
- Absolute Dogs

I believe that every dog is unique, and that there is not a 'one size fits all' solution to behavioural issues. Therefore, I take into account every aspect of a dog's life during training, and sessions are tailored to suit the needs of each individual.

All of my training is based on positive reinforcement. My techniques are game-based and force-free.

Classes and courses are held in an enclosed private field in Ponteland, and at Doggy Days Creche, Salon and Boutique in Cramlington.

These are fun and stress-free environments which are perfect for learning. I also offer house visits, and accompanied walks in local areas.

Reviews
'We took Minnie in for 1-2-1 and she really enjoyed the session.
Jenny listened and helped us with all our questions and really helped with recall and Minnie's jumping. Minnie's been great since we took her. Highly recommended, thank you Jenny'

                                                                   - Daniel and Minnie

'I really enjoyed our training session with Jenny it was exactly what we needed. Jenny was very knowledgeable and explained Ollie’s behaviour which was very useful, especially surrounding his barking. She is very flexible in her approach and was happy to look at the main issues that I wanted to focus on [...] With Jenny’s guidance I now have a very clear plan of what we need to work on, especially when guests come in the house'

                                                                                      - Charlotte and Ollie

'Amazing training session with Jenny today! Exactly what we wanted: clear and effective (and fun!) recall exercises we can practise at home. She's got so many ideas we've already booked the next session with the rest of the family. Thank you, Jenny!!'

                                                                                                                                                                                                        - Alex and Alfie

'My husband and I asked Home from Home to provide some training for Erin, our five month old German Shepherd puppy, and they introduced us to Jenny [...] Jenny is so lovely with Erin and I know she keeps an eye on her for me, when we book her into Home from Home for a day, overnight or weekend. Jenny always manages to give an insight into how Erin’s mind was working, which made it easy to understand what was going on and why she’s doing these things [...] Jenny taught us to put ourselves in Erin’s shoes and apply the same logic, and when we went home, we had her useful ‘homework’ notes to remind us how we had decided to handle things. Anyone wanting a pleasant, fun and beneficial training course couldn’t ask for more.'

                                                                                                                                                                                      - Les, Enid, and Erin

Why am I not receiving emails from Jenny Hunter Dog Training?

Clients will receive notes via email after every session, and I endeavour to respond to every email by the next working day.

However, it’s impossible to avoid the occasional compatibility problem. If you’re consistently not receiving emails, here are some troubleshooting steps:

  • Check your spam folder.
  • Be sure that your spam settings are allowing incoming emails from unknown senders.
  • Add “jhunterdogtraining@gmail.com” to your approved sender list.

How many training sessions will my dog need?

Packages include 4 private sessions but we will always discuss a dog's progress during the last session. I am happy to organise more lessons if owners feel they need more support.

Private lessons are tailored to you and your dog, and so the teaching is done entirely at the dog's pace.

Feel free to get in touch to discuss which option would suit you best.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes.

Each session requires a deposit in advance. This deposit is transferable if owners cancel within 48 hours of their appointment.

Group courses require a minimum of 1 week's notice.
